Introduction
Note: You must have a new
SAM code.
SAM 2010
Instructions
Create a
SAM account
- Each
student must purchase a new SAM card, because it has an individual Key Code
that can be used only once
- Launch
your web browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox)
- Enter
http://sam2010.course.com
to visit the SAM 2010 log in page
- The
first time you enter SAM 2010 you will click New User

After you create an account, you will enter the site with your username
and password
- Enter
your Institution Key:
T2045205
- SAM will
ask you to verify that you have selected the correct institution, select OK
if correct.
- Enter
the Key Code that you purchased (This will be found in the SAM 2010 card you
purchased with your textbooks). NOTE: This 18-digit code is
case–sensitive
- Click
Save to go to the next screen
- Create a
profile; all fields with an * are required
- Confirm
or revise your profile as needed
- Click
Save to go to the next screen, then click Confirm (or Revise if necessary)
- Agree to
the Terms & Conditions
- If you
previously had a CengageBrain account, please read
this
information.
Join a
Section
- In the
left vertical menu click Sections
- At the
right click the Join a Section button
- From the
list available carefully select your section
- Click
the top right arrow to bring it into My Sections
- Click
Save
- You will
receive a confirmation message with the name of the section you joined
Your
instructor will automatically be notified when you join the correct SAM section.
Open
Homework 1 (You are not
required to complete Homework 1, since it is optional)
- Click
the SAM Assignments link on the left
- Click
the Assignment name (Optional Homework 1 Spr12)
- Read the
Assignment Details and click OK
- Wait for
the SAM Training assignment to open
- Click
Apply
- Read the
information and click Continue
- Complete
the question
- Wait for
the message box to open (“You have completed the task.”) and then click the
Task Complete button near the bottom of the SAM window.
- After
you click Task Complete, the next question will load.

Repeat steps 5-9 to answer remaining questions
