Course Description:  This graduate networking course exposes students to several major research areas in networking with some of the latest research results. The areas include LAN technologies, network routing, transport protocols, congestion control, Quality of Service, network measurement, multimedia networks, privacy and security. A few specific protocols are taken as case studies to examine their designs and operations. The course materials are drawn from both the textbook and current research papers, which will be posted on the web.  The course aims at introducing graduate students to research, and exploiting potential areas for MS comprehensive projects or PhD research directions.

Course Objectives: This graduate networking course has two main goals: (1) bringing graduate students to the frontier of network research, and (2) improving students' research skills through case studies. They will be able to exploit potential topics for MS comprehensive projects or PhD research directions.
