Conference

The oldest continuously running annual conference of the ACM invites papers, posters, tutorials, and workshops in all areas of computer science. ACM SE provides an excellent forum for both faculty and students to present their research in a friendly and dynamic atmosphere.

Acceptance Rate: 

The acceptance rate this year for peer-reviewed full-papers was 57%.

Important Dates

The conference will be held March 29–31, 2012 at the Bryant Conference Center in Tuscaloosa.

Camera ready submissions are due February 24, 2012.

Keynotes

The keynote address on Friday morning will be given by Jerry Tessendorf, a Professor of Visual Computing and Director of the Digital Production Arts program at Clemson University. He previously developed new movie production techniques and software for 15 years at Rhythm & Hues and Cinesite Digital Studios, and in 2008 he received an Academy Award for Technical Achievement.

The keynote address during lunch on Friday will be given by Suzanne Westbrook, a Program Director in the Directorate of Education and Human Resources at the National Science Foundation. She served as Associate Head of Computer Science at the University of Arizona from 2004–2010 and, since 2009, as Associate Director of the School of Information: Science, Technology, and Arts (SISTA) which she helped create in 2008.
