This three day workshop is research focused and provides opportunities for undergraduate women to work on exploratory problems in teams led by researchers from industry and academia.   • Feb 24, 2011 A University of Alabama team, known as the Southern Sweethearts (Leah Boling, Melissa Bowman, Andrea Torske, and Elizabeth Williams), has made it to the semi-finals of the Microsoft Imagine Cup. This all-female team will compete in the next round for a chance to visit Microsoft in Redmond at the finals. Their project uses Windows Phone 7 and Microsoft Tag technology to offer navigation assistance around the inside of buildings for those with vision impairments (Team Website)
