Student Software Resources
- The VMware e-Academy program allows Faculty and students doing research in the Computer Science program to download and install selected VMware software free through the e-Academy web store. Licenses will give you unrestricted use of software for one year. Students need to provide faculty advisor's name, bama/Crimson email address, and CWID for us to setup the account. Send your request with the above information to support@cs.ua.edu or come by the Tech support office in SEC 3428
- The MSDN Academic Alliance program will allow eligible students and faculty within Computer Science to download and install Microsoft developer applications on their personal computers. You need to contact the CS Tech Support office in SEC 3428, or by email to support@cs.ua.edu to request a login. Provide the CS class you are currently enrolled in, your bama/Crimson email address, and CWID.
- The Ultimate Steal from Microsoft. Students can purchase Microsoft Office Professional Academic 2010 for only $79.95 with a valid student ID.
- OpenOffice.org from Sun Microsystems. Students can download FREE OpenOffice.org 3.2.1 . OpenOffice.org 2 is an open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases, and more. OpenOffice.org 2 can read and write Microsoft Office files.
